The Internet Broadband service for large business enterprises has been expanded to include broadband service over cable, wherever necessary, all under single-point MCI management.
MCI, Inc (NASDAQ:MCIP) has announced the expansion of its broadband service for enterprises to include high speed Internet access via cable, extending the reach of this service via all access methods to an estimated 90 percent of all US businesses.
The new Internet Cable service supplements the existing delivery mechanisms of DSL, satellite, and WiFi, allowing multi-location enterprises to turn to MCI for uniform nationwide service across all access options, without having to manage multiple solutions from different providers.
MCI’s Internet Cable Service derives from its relationship with New Edge Networks, an aggregator, which delivers cable Internet service from Charter Communications, Cox Communications and Time Warner Cable at the usual cable speeds. MCI provides a one-stop resource, with consolidated billing and 24/7 technical service and support. Additional security is available through MCIs IP VPN Broadband optional managed solution that encrypts the traffic between remote locations and corporate headquarters.
MCI Internet Broadband is targeted towards customers with multiple retail store and small office applications, and is ideal for large scale deployments because it is delivered to customer sites pre-configured and ready for immediate operation.
Businesses choosing to receive Internet access via cable in this way from MCI can also avail themselves of a normal cable television feed over the installed coax, should they need it, by contacting the local cable company directly.
