Starting in January, Ecuity will roll out nationwide its V-Tone Home residential VoIP service, which will run on PCs and Pocket PCs over wireline broadband and WiFi.
Ecuity, Inc (OTC BB: ECUI.OB) announced that its partnership with TeleSym, Inc will result in the nationwide rollout of its V-Tone Home and Smart Call service for residential broadband users, starting January 3, 2005.
Customers will be able to keep their current phone numbers, or choose a number within specific area codes, and make and receive calls from PC or Pocket PC-compatible devices such as laptops and PDA’s with a broadband or wireless (Smart Call) connection.
Features of Ecuity’s service include:
– Caller ID, call blocking, call forwarding and three way calling
– Free voicemail
– Low international rates
– Unlimited calls anywhere in the continental US
– Free in-network calling
– Automatic call forwarding
– No contract
– Optional addition of Ecuity’s Smart Call software to extend V-Tone services to laptops or Pocket PC-compatible cell phones and PDAs for making mobile VoWiFi (Voice over Wi-Fi) calls.
The combination of the Ecuity and SymPhone systems makes telephoning possible over private WiFi, public HotSpot or Broadband networks, and supports all current key telephony standards such as SIP (Session Initiation Protocol).
